A Growing Collection of my Favourite Australian Labels

Living in Aus can often be frustrating when it comes to shopping international brands that aren't stocked in our stores. We have to battle with size conversion charts, currency fluctuations and of course, my biggest gripe, international shipping rates. However, luckily for us, we have an amazing array of Australian fashion labels right here on our doorstep. Here are a few of my favourites (so far).

Friends with Frank

I came across Friends with Frank a couple of years ago when their Space Dyed Blue colourway (pictured) flooded my Instagram feed. Within minutes of browsing their website and editorial images, I knew I'd discovered a new favourite. FWF executes elevated basics perfectly, offering timeless (but never boring) styles in high-quality materials that are designed to last.

I have a few FWF pieces in my own wardrobe and can attest to the quality and brilliance of their simple designs - I find myself reaching for The Sienna Top multiple times a week.

DISSH

I don't think I can summarise DISSH any better than how they describe themselves:

"The brand is known for its feminine silhouettes underpinned by an effortless sense of cool. Unraveling designer luxury into refined yet easy-going pieces that reflect our roots in the sunshine state of Australia." - DISSH.

Since making my first DISSH purchase a couple of years ago, although it was only a pair of simple long-line denim shorts (will never not be a necessity for Australian summers), the brand has become my go-to for everyday essentials and simple-yet-sophisticated event wear. If you're someone like me who struggles to find pants, especially denim, that actually fit snug on the waist whilst still achieving the loose fit through the leg, then DISSH is for you! After spending years having all my pants tailored at the waist, I've finally found a brand that fits *perfectly*. My (current) favourite DISSH piece is the Norah Natural Linen Pants, which have been on high rotation this festive season.

SIR. The Label

I think it's safe to assume that most have heard of SIR thanks to their cult status across the Australian fashion landscape. The Financial Review writes about how SIR launched initially via social media and thrived by establishing a recognisable brand identity which is still remains strong today (you can read the full article here). For me, it's SIR's bold prints and unique silhouettes that make it instantly recognisable. However, the brand do pared back just as brilliantly and as a self-devoted minimal dresser myself, this is where they have me sold.

Incu Collection

Incu stores, which stock designers such as Jacquemus, A.P.C and Acne Studios, have been a long-time favourite of mine to browse. However, their own in-house label Incu Collection which launched in 2018 has fast become another one of my go-tos. Whilst being more affordable than other designers stocked in their stores, Incu Collection pieces maintain a high quality, uncomplicated and stylish aesthetic. You can check out the Incu Collection in-store or on their website here.

I had to include an image of one of their stores, because look at it. Who wouldn't want to browse here?

The list is short and sweet for now (remember, these are just my favourites), but stay tuned as it grows - I'll be adding to this collection of favourite Australian labels as I discover and/or try them for myself.

If you have any trusted and go-to brands of your own, let me know in the comments!

Until next time,

- Sarah
